Basic Requirements: Affenpinschers are a good breed for an apartment. They are energenic and enjoy playing with their owners. Affenpinschers require weekly brushing and monthly bathing. They shed moderately. Show dogs require more intense grooming and stripping of the coat.

 

Temperament: Affenpinschers are lively, playful, and independent. They can be stubborn at times. Affenpinschers get along best with children when they are raised with them. The breed is better for older children. Intelligent and brave, Affenpinschers will sometimes defend their territory as if they were much larger dogs. They make good watch dogs.
