Quote
from an Owner:
Basenjis
like to stay very warm and are a burrowing breed. Don't
expect your bed to stay made; they would rather be under your
comforter. Basenjis are very clean and catlike. They are
more like a cat in a dog's body! A Basenji with a healthy
background has been known to live as long as 15 to 17 years!

Height:
Ideal
height for dogs is 17 inches and bitches 16 inches.
Color: Chestnut
red; pure black; tricolor (pure black and chestnut red); or brindle
(black stripes on a background of chestnut red); all with white

 | Basic
Requirements: A
securely fenced yard is important. Basenjis are curious, and will
find a way out if there is one. Weekly brushing helps to control
light shedding; monthly bathing is adequate. |
 | Temperament:
Basenjis
don't bark, but they do yodel or whine to express themselves.
Basenjis are a high-energy breed and they can become bored easily.
They are happiest when allowed to be a part of the family. Basenjis
can be stubborn at times, and they need consistent training. |
