Height:
Ideally, Males - 19" to 22" ; Females - 18" to 21" Color:
Many colors, with various combinations of patterns and markings. The
most common color is black, with or without the traditional white
blaze, collar, stockings and tail tip, with or without tan points. A
variety of primary body colors is permissible - except all white.
Solid color, bi-color, tri-color, merle and sable dogs are judged
equally with dogs having traditional markings. |

Requirements: Border
Collies must have lots of daily exercise, and they prefer to get
that exercise while working or playing with their owners. A large
well-fenced yard is a must. Make sure the fence is at least 6' tall
and is secure at the base so the dog cannot dig out. Twice-weekly
brushing is needed to control moderate shedding. |

Border
Collies are very active, ready-for-action dogs. They excel at
agility, herding, and other athletic jobs. They are readily
trainable and want to please. They crave human attention, are
extremely intelligent, and need early, consistent training. They are
best with older children. |
