AKC Height: Ideally, between 19 and 23 inches.  Color: White with black or liver spots.

 

Basic Requirements: Early obedience training is important. Dalmatians want to be a part of the family. A strong 6' fence surrounding a large yard with room to run and play is best for a Dalmatian. Weekly brushing will help to keep moderate shedding under control.

 

Temperament: Temperaments vary. Observe the parents to get an idea of their temperament. Puppies should be friendly-neither aggressive nor scared. Dalmatians are energetic and playful. Usually good with children. Dalmatians will bark if a stranger approaches the home.
