AKC Height: Ideally, Males, 25 1/2 to 27 1/2 inches; Females, 23 1/2 to 25 1/2 inches Color: Solid black or pepper and salt.

Basic Requirements: Early socialization and training is important. Giant Schnauzers are energetic dogs that require a well-fenced large yard with room to run and play. Weekly brushing will help to keep slight shedding under control. Trimming or stripping of the coat is required every few months.

Temperament: Giant Schnauzers are good family dogs. They like to play with children, and are generally protective of their family.
