AKC Height: Dogs 25 1/2 to 28 1/2 inches: Bitches - 23 1/2 to 27 inches. Color: Jet black with rust and white markings.

Basic Requirements: Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs require a well-fenced yard with room to run and play. Early socialization is important. Bi-weekly brushing will help to control moderate to heavy seasonal shedding.

Temperament: Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs are loyal and devoted to their owners. They make good watchdogs. They are good with children if raised with them.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Watch for hip/elbow dysplasia, bloat, entropian, epliepsy, Osteochondritis dessicans (OCD)
