AKC Height: Ideally, 19 to 21 inches for dogs and bitches. Color: Any color.

Basic Requirements: Harriers have lots of energy and need a well-fenced yard with room to run and play. Weekly brushing and occasional bathing will help to keep the coat in good shape.

Temperament: Harriers are generally good-natured, friendly dogs. Early obedience training is important as the breed tends to have an independent nature.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) The average lifespan is twelve years. Health problems that can affect the breed include hip dysplasia and hereditary eye disorders.
