Characteristics,
care, health & breeder listings below.

 | AKC
Weight: 4
to 6 pounds preferred.
Color: White. |
 | Basic
Requirements: Maltese
require a moderate-sized yard in which to exercise. If taken for
daily walks, they do well in smaller homes and apartments. Bi-weekly
brushing and occasional trimming and bathing will help to keep the
coat in good condition. |
 | Temperament:
Maltese are
happy, friendly, devoted family companions. They want and need to be
with their owners. They will bark if someone comes to the door, but
they are not aggressive watch dogs. |
 | Health
(Health Dictionary click here) Average
lifespan is 13 years. Watch for collapsing trachea, liver shunt,
luxated patellas, white shaker dog syndrome. |
