Quote from an Owner

Poodles come in three varieties: Toy, miniature and standard. They are wonderful, devoted companions and family dogs. Poodles crave and need human attention. They love nothing more than to be around their owners, whether it's sitting by their side or playing ball in the yard.

Toys are the more delicate of the three varieties, although they are still a sturdy little dog. Toys are true lap dogs. Miniatures and Standards make great kids' dogs, as they love to play and they have lots of energy.

Basic Requirements: Toy Poodles need less room for exercise than the other two varieties. They are a good choice for apartment living. Miniature and Standard Poodles need an average-sized yard with plenty of room to play. All three varieties need twice-weekly brushing and monthly bathing and trimming. Many owners keep the coat trimmed short to reduce grooming time.
