SAINT
BERNARD
Characteristics,
care, health & breeder listings below.
 | AKC
Height: White
with red or red with white. There are two varieties:
Longhaired and shorthaired. |
 |
Basic
Requirements: Saint
Bernards need a moderate-sized, securely fenced yard in which to exercise.
These dogs need a good amount of grooming time, especially the longhaired
variety. Bi-weekly brushing will help to control moderate to heavy seasonal
shedding. |
 | Temperament:
Saint Bernards are
good-natured dogs that enjoy being with their family. Due to their large
size and deep bark they would probably deter an intruder; however,
their gentle nature is not that of a watchdog. |
 |
Health
(Health Dictionary click here) Average
lifespan is 9 years. Watch for bloat, hip dysplasia, epilepsy |
