AKC Height: Ideally, males 11" - 13"; females 10" - 12". Color: Black

Basic Requirements: Schipperkes are curious, active dogs that require room to run and play. Weekly brushing and occasional bathing will help to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Schipperkes enjoy human companionship and are good family pets. They can be protective and will bark if a stranger comes to the door. Early socialization and training is important.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan is around 15 years. Watch for cataracts, PRA, PPM, Entropian, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Hypothyroidism, Legg-Perthes, Hip Dysplasia
