AKC Height: Ideally, 11 to 13 inches.  Color: Any color or combination of colors.

Basic Requirements: For the hairless Chinese Crested, weekly baths with special treatment for dry skin is necessary. The skin is prone to breakouts that require treatment.  Powderpuff dogs require weekly brushing, and trimming a few times a year. Chinese Cresteds need a moderate amount of room to exercise and play.

Temperament: Playful, affectionate, and devoted to their owners; Chinese Cresteds may be aloof with strangers. They are intelligent and learn readily; however, they may have an independent streak.

Health: (Health Dictionary click here) Watch for skin problems in the hairless Chinese Crested, Luxated Patellar, Dry Eye, Legg-Calve Perthes Disease, wool and lanolin allergies. The average lifespan is 14 years.
