Rough Variety

 

Collies have two coat types: Rough and smooth

AKC Height: Ideally,  dogs 24 to 26 inches; bitches 22 to 24 inches. Color:  Sable and White, Tri-color, Blue Merle, and White.

Basic Requirements: A large well-fenced yard with plenty of room to run and play is necessary. Smooth-coated Collies need weekly brushing; rough-coated dogs need bi-weekly brushing to help control moderate to heavy shedding.

Temperament: Loyal, devoted, and obedient, Collies make good family dogs. They are typically gentle and good with children. They make good watchdogs.
