Dogo Argentino

The Dogo Argentino is a working dog that is used for big game hunting, guarding, field work, obedience, tracking, police work, search and rescue, and more.

Height: Males: 25" at the withers; females: 23.5". (FCI standard is 60 to 65 centimeters.) Weight: 99-110 lbs.

Basic Requirements: A securely fenced yard is necessary for a Dogo Argentino. Early obedience training is recommended for this large breed. Weekly brushing will help control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Loyal and protective of his owners, Dogo Argentino are good watchdogs. They are good with children they are raised with, and are very tolerant of them. They may not be good with other dogs or pets.

Health: (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan is 10 years. Watch for deafness, hip dysplasia.
