PUG
Characteristics,
care, health & breeder listings below.

 | Quote
From An Owner: Pugs
are great dogs to live with. You can fit a lot of them in one
space, and they fit into your lifestyle. An owner who is not
as active as another owner will have a less active Pug. Pugs
are comedians, always set to please, and always doing something
funny. They are worry-free in the show ring, because they know
they are the cutest dogs at the show! Pugs have different
varieties (blacks, fawns, and silvers) but they are not treated as
different Pugs. Pugs have a tall version and a short version,
but short-legged Pugs are preferred. The original Pug, first
bred in China, was a lean, leggy Pug. They were bred to be
companions for the emperor, and he gave them as gifts. Queen
Victoria of England received a Pug, and their popularity grew
throughout Europe. Today the Pug is a very popular breed, and
why not? They may not be smooth, but they are posh, especially
when you dress them up.
