AKC Height: Males about 15"; bitches slightly smaller. Color: Black and tan.

Basic Requirements: Welsh Terriers will do well in smaller homes and apartments if they get plenty of daily exercise. Weekly brushing and occasional bathing and stripping will help to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Welsh Terriers are happy dogs that are best with older children. They are generally laid-back indoors. Some are more possessive of "their" food and toys than others. They will alert their owner to strangers, but are not aggressive.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan is 10 years. Watch for lens luxation, glaucoma, allergies, hypothyroidism, epilepsy
