Ideally, Dogs 42-48 cm; Bitches 38-44 cm.

All colors are permitted. There are gray, black, and silver dogs with white, but yellow or reddish with white is the most common color. There are two Icelandic Sheepdog varieties: Longhaired and shorthaired.
