Coal black with rich tan markings above eyes, on sides of muzzle,
chest, legs and breeching, with black pencil markings on toes. |

and Tan Coonhounds need an average-sized, securely fenced yard to
keep them from following their nose and roaming. Daily exercise is
necessary. They are good diggers, so watch for low spots under the
fence. Weekly brushing will keep moderate shedding under control. |

Show-bred
hounds are typically friendly and outgoing. Hounds bred to work in
the field have more of an instinctive hunting nature. |
