Meet Lisa Puskas

Lisa Puskas is a published author and lifelong dog expert with over 50 years of hands-on experience in dog care, training, and breed research. She is the founder of Dog-Breeds.net, one of the longest-running dog breed resources on the web, originally launched in 2002.

Lisa’s work has appeared in The American Kennel Club Gazette, as well as in dog breed books, magazines, newspapers, and trusted online publications. She also played a key role in the American Kennel Club’s full recognition of the Ibizan Hound in the United States, working closely with breeders and breed organizations to help preserve and promote the breed. In addition, she chaired the Ibizan Hound Breed Standard Committee that revised the breed’s judging standard for the AKC.

Over the decades, Lisa has lived with, trained, and researched a wide variety of dog breeds. She has worked with conformation, obedience, agility and rescue organizations. Her expertise focuses on:
